Designer of the week: Guillaume Henry

I am absolutely fascinated with Carven and the makeover it has been through since Guillaume Henry become its creative director in 2009 and given it a twist. Since then, the collections have become more ready-to-wear, more modern I'd say, with less focus on haute couture than in the past.

THE MAN HIMSELF:

Guillaume made a 12-month course at the Institut Français de la Mode, in Paris and right after finishing it he started working for Givenchy (lucky boy), he had the pleasure to work with the great Ricardo Tisci after his arrival at the Maison in 2005. A few years later (2009) he was offered a place to be the head of Carven and his first collection as creative director was in 2010. From interviews I have read, it seems that Henry has got a more commercial and/or functional mind when it comes to designing, I think this is translated in collections that look younger and fresh without being too edgy, he knows what clothes are for.
Carven clothes are absolutely beautifully made. I would without a doubt wear every single garment from the last collection.

Carven is really easy to get pretty much in every fashion retailer. And let me tell you the packaging is SO FRENCH, white boxes decorated with red, white and blue ribbon and the little ship (logo).

Here I'm posting my favourite looks from the SS 2013 collection. Although it was pretty difficult to choose since I honestly like every single one.
